Over the weekend, the VC Bird International Airport experienced a bustling influx of travelers from around the world!
A total of seventeen international flights landed, bringing in over twenty-five hundred passengers.
Nine flights arrived on Saturday, carrying 1,356 individuals, while eight flights, carrying 1,173 passengers, arrived on Sunday.
Colin C. James, the Chief Executive Officer of the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority, highlighted that while not all passengers were tourists, the majority were visitors to the country.
These travelers primarily originated from the United States, particularly New York and Miami, as well as Canada in North America and the UK.
It’s important to note that these figures only account for international flights, excluding arrivals on regional carriers.
Exciting times for tourism and travel in Antigua and Barbuda!
I wonder if there are more staff at passport control to deal with this number of passengers. The queues in the last couple of years have been dreadful which is not a great start to your holiday.
