Minister Smith Jr hold crucial meetings with Agriculture Staff

Newly appointed Minister for Agriculture, Land, Fisheries, and the Blue Economy  Anthony Smith Jr, commenced a series of crucial introductory meetings on Monday at the ministry headquarters.

The focus of the meetings is to engage with division heads and discuss the current state and future direction of their respective areas.

Monday’s agenda featured significant discussion with outgoing permanent secretary Sandra Joseph, and incoming Permanent Secretary Walter Christopher.

 

Minister Smith Jr received comprehensive updates on ongoing initiatives and outlined both successes and challenges encountered by the ministry.

In his remarks, minister Smith Jr emphasized the imperative for adopting solution- oriented strategies in addressing these challenges.

He stressed that the ministry’s trajectory must be underpinned with data serving as a cornerstone for informed decision making.

The series of meetings marks a proactive approach by minister smith jr towards steering the ministry of agriculture, land, fisheries and the blue economy to achieve its strategic objectives effectively.
