Today Friday, a trainee Special Constable is scheduled to appear before a District B Magistrate to respond to a charge of maliciously damaging property valued at $700.

This incident stemmed from a conflict two years ago when the trainee, then undergoing training, clashed with Superintendent Louisa Benjamin-Quashie and was unilaterally dismissed from the force.

After seeking legal intervention, the trainee was reinstated, but tensions remained high as Commandant Quashie voiced her opposition against his return to training school.

Despite being assigned desk duties at police headquarters, the trainee was eventually sent back to training at the old Navy Base owned by the Social Security.

During a routine inspection of the trainee’s living quarters, training school staff discovered a significant hole in the partition.

When questioned about the damage, the trainee was unable to provide a satisfactory explanation, ultimately leading to his arrest on the charge of malicious damage.
