Alex Feng’s malicious damage case pushed back again

Alex Feng back behind bars

Alex Feng, a Chinese national known for his previous arson attack on the XPZ store in 2021, will remain in custody for a few more days due to another adjournment of his case.

Feng, who faces charges of malicious damage, using threatening language, and throwing missiles, made his second court appearance recently.

He was initially remanded last Friday due to the absence of a Chinese interpreter, and the same issue led to his return to prison after this latest appearance yesterday.

The court has stated its intention to secure an interpreter for Feng’s next scheduled appearance on August 21.

Feng had recently completed a three-year sentence for burning down the Factory Road building and had been living in Potters upon his release.

However, his freedom was brief. Authorities were alerted when videos emerged showing Feng causing disturbances near the reconstruction site of the XPZ store.

Police reports indicate that Feng illegally entered the property and engaged in destructive acts, including breaking a glass window, damaging galvanized panels, and breaking a metal gate.

As a consequence of these alleged actions, Feng now faces multiple charges.

    • Do we extend similar courtesies and consideration to the local and regional criminals who, according to Dwight, “might have his reasons” for committing crime. Give me a break! Get a student from the Sir Novelle Richards Academy to act as an interpreter since the Embassy seems incapable of so doing. Get this Chinese criminal out of Antigua ASAP.
