Carnival review today

8 August 2024 - 05:15

The Ministry of Creative Industries will provide an update on the 2024 Carnival festivities, which concluded on Carnival Tuesday, August 6.

The press conference, scheduled for today, will be led by Festivals Minister Daryll Matthew and members of the National Festivals Commission.

They will discuss the successes and areas for improvement of the festival, highlighting the growth in participation and the emergence of new artists.

The team also plans to address the signing of a three-year contract between the Festivals Commission and the Antigua and Barbuda Steel Bands Association, which is expected to eliminate annual disputes.

Additionally, changes in the judging criteria for the Party Monarch and Calypso competitions will be discussed.

  1. The carnival is sweet but the violence isn’t we need a lot more support from the government and the police force to make the carnival a safe place

  2. I believe that having groovy and power soca together should be addressed because it’s not fair to all the artists how are you even going to judge this ? Is it a case that the pm used all the money else where and is trying to save ?
