Police Renew Appeal for Information in Tuesday’s Shooting

Police are renewing their appeal for information into the East Bus Station shooting incident on Last Lap Tuesday.

It was reported that an armed assailant fired several shots at a group of people under tent at the East Bus, “Shanty Town” area, killing 43-year-old Kergus Martin of Liberta, and injuring others.

Malachi Martin of Liberta and Wayne Knowles of Gambles are still at the hospital receiving medical treatment. Malachi’s condition remains critical, while Knowles is said to be stable.

Police are asking anyone with information surrounding this incident to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913 or call Crimestoppers Hotline number at 800-Tips (8477). Information provided will be handled confidentially.
