TROPICAL STORM WATCH ISSUED FOR ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA

The Antigua and Barbuda Meterological Services has issued a Tropical Storm Watch for Antigua and Barbuda and the rest of the Leeward Islands. Storm-force winds are mostly likely to affect Antigua and Barbuda Tuesday morning between 8am and 2pm. The Met Office expects the tropical storm impact will subside by Tuesday night.

The Met Office also says winds are not expected to reach hurricane strength. Winds are expected to range between 40 and 60 mph with higher gusts.

An area of disturbed weather, AL98, is moving closer toward the north eastern Caribbean and is expected to strengthen into a tropical depression and then a tropical storm before impacting the area.

Updates will be provided once it becomes available
