Cabinet has made the decision that public sector workers will not be required to report for duties today, Tuesday, August 13, except for those in the Essential Services.
This has been confirmed by Acting Prime Minister Sir Steadroy Benjamin, who says the decision has been taken folllowing the advice of the Meterological Services and National Office of Disaster Services, NODS.
Cabinet says the country remains under a tropical storm warning, though the full brunt of the storm’s impact is yet to be experienced. Permament Secretaries have been advised of this decision.
The Airport Authority had earlier announced that the VC Bird International Airport will remain closed until 3pm today.
