Insane Carnival has celebrated its 10th Anniversary by making a significant impact on Carnival in Antigua and Barbuda and the local community.
This year, the theme for the Troupe’s T-shirt mas focused on the Fight Against Breast Cancer.
The Mas troupe, along with their Troopers, took to the streets of St. John’s for a meaningful cause, as many troopers have been affected by breast cancer.
In honor of this milestone year, Insane Carnival and its affiliated groups, Insane Army and Dutty Mas, generously donated $20,000.00 EC Dollars to two charities.
The non-profit organization Breast Friends received EC $10,000.00, which Michele Lynch, Secretary, gratefully accepted on their behalf.
Additionally, Cathy Gilkes, Administrator of the St. John Hospice, received EC $10,000.00 on behalf of the organization.
Notably, Insane Carnival has committed to officially adopting the Hospice as their charity moving forward.
Captain Lenroy Browne expressed the Mas Troupe’s future plans, emphasizing the importance of providing a comfortable environment for the hospice’s patients, many of whom have made significant contributions to the development of Antigua and Barbuda.
Understanding the significance of supporting terminally ill patients, Insane Carnival remains dedicated to improving the hospice’s environment for those in need.
The donations were presented to both organizations by Public Relations Manager, Patrice Martin, showcasing Insane Carnival’s commitment to giving back to the community.
Hopefully, they’ll make a donation to Sagicor for their role in the deliberate destruction of their fence on j’ouvert morning. The end rarely justifies the means. Carnival does not mean that all decency and responsibility are buried during this period. Very ashamed of Insane’s conduct this year which was particularly vile during t-shirt mas and on j’ouverr morning.
I hope they put the money to good use
Sagicor need there compensation,it wasn’t fair to them
