Police Report States Rae Peters Came to Collect Package with Drugs at Post Office

Rae Peters from Bolans Village

On Monday, the Narcotics Department and Customs Taskforce Officers conducted a Joint Drug Interdiction at the General Post Office.

During the operation, a gift-wrapped box was searched in the presence of Rae Peters from Bolans Village, who had come to collect the package.

A transparent plastic bag containing a green, bushy substance resembling the controlled drug cannabis was discovered.

Rae Peters and the substance were taken to the Police Headquarters for further investigation.

The substance was weighed and amounted to 391 grams with an estimated street value of $6,000.00 E.C.

Peters was allegedly at the post office with his close friend Junior Minister Dwayne George.

George said he was not implicated in the offense.

The police have not mentioned his name in their blotter either.

George told Antigua.news that a close friend asked for his help arranging a meeting with the Postmaster General to clear a package intended for a third party.

He said there was no further involvement beyond connecting his friend with the Postmaster General.

  1. Politicians beware! This type of “string pulling” because you happen to have political power and influence will be your downfall. Let your friend go through the requisite procedures required of regular taxpayers. Dwayne George, you have placed yourself in a most compromising position and the PM ought to relieve you of any and all politically driven appointments. Why did you not use your influence to get the government to regularize the operations of our cursed postal system for the benefit of ALL taxpayers??? If you have not even been elected by the people and have started to arrogantly flout the law then you should have no place in an administration which heralds good governance as its mantra. Mr. PM, welcome them if they want to cross over but do not allow them to bring their vice and just for power with them….or else!
