Tianzhao ‘Alex’ Feng the man who was imprisoned for burning down the XPZ supermarket has been fined $3,500 for pleading guilty to maliciously damaging that same company’s property
Feng damaged the XPZ property in August and claimed he was unaware of any directive to stay away.
He defended his actions, stating that Antigua is a free place and he can go wherever he wants.
Feng previously served a three-year prison sentence for burning down the original XPZ supermarket in 2021.
The case in his latest actions, was heard before Magistrate Dane Hamilton Jr., with the help of Norm Christopher, a Chinese interpreter.
Feng, who’s originally from China, appeared in court without legal representation. The magistrate fined him $500 for malicious damage and ordered an additional $3,000 in compensation.
Feng has until November 21 to pay the remaining amount, and failure to do so may result in imprisonment.
The owner of XPZ, Zhang Xiao Ping, expressed dissatisfaction with the ruling, stating that Feng should be jailed and sent back to China.
The magistrate warned Feng not to appear before him in any future cases related to XPZ, cautioning him to leave the property alone and report any harassment to the police.
Exactly what do the Government and people of Antigua and Barbuda owe this Chinese criminal who, once again, received a slap on the wrist and a handshake from our lame duck court! First he burns down a business place causing millions of dollars damage and allegegdly served three years in jail. Once released, he again resorted to damaging the same property for which he was allegedly jailed back in 2021. Having again been found guilty he has been handed a soft fine of $3500 and a payment plan!!!!
As of now, I withdraw my demand for immediate deportation of foreign criminals, Yardie or not! We Antiguans deserve exactly we get.
