Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck who are to divorce after exactly 2 years of marriage (TV Insider)

Jennifer Lopez has filed for divorce from Ben Affleck… on their second wedding anniversary.
The Hollywood stars formally tied the knot in Las Vegas in July 2022, before holding a much grander ceremony in Georgia a month later.
The glamorous couple had rekindled their romance after nearly two decades apart, having first met when they worked on the movie Gigli in 2002 and had planned to marry the following year, but their relationship cooled and they called things off early in 2004.
There were no prenuptial agreement details listed in the petition in the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
Affleck had already moved out of home
There had been rumours about a possible break up for the past four months or so, suggesting 52-year-old Affleck had moved out of the marital home, which was then put on the market with a value of around $68m.
They have both been seen house-hunting separately and tabloids began to document instances where they were not wearing their wedding rings. Then there was the sudden cancellation of her US tour, with the reason given as a need to be with her “children and family”.
The 55-year-old Lopez, or her attorney, now has to present her husband with a copy of the petition to dissolve the marriage and then both must share financial information, including their current income, expenses, properties and debts.
Far cry from the joy of 2022
It is all quite sad, given the widespread delight when it was announced in April 2022 that the couple had once again become engaged – 20 years after the first occasion.
They wed in the July of that year at Clark County, Las Vegas, arriving at the chapel just before midnight and patiently waiting in line behind four other happy couples.
Each of them called it the “best possible wedding imaginable” and explaining their decision to give things another go, Lopez said: “We’re older and smarter now, with more experience, and we’re at different places in our lives, with kids now; so we’re protective because it is such a beautiful time for all of us.”
Media blamed for the first attempt at marriage failing
They never quite made it to the marriage stage first time around. Back then they had been due to marry in 2003, but called it off just a few days before the ceremony, because of what they described at the time as “excessive media attention”.
Just a few months later they went their separate ways.
Four times married for Jennifer Lopez
Lopez, had been married to Cuban-born waiter Ojani Noa from 1997 to 1998 and then to her former back-up dancer, Cris Judd from 2001 to 2003.
After the first split from Affleck she entered into her third marriage, this time with singer Marc Anthony, with whom she spent 10 years together and shares her two children.
She was also engaged to New York Yankees player, Alex Rodriguez, between 2019 and 2021.
Affleck for his part, was married to Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018, and they have three children.
