In a recent court appearance, Riccardo McKenzie, 28, of Sutherlands, entered a guilty plea to charges of possession of a 9mm automatic pistol and seven rounds of matching ammunition.
The hearing took place yesterday and he was remanded pending his sentencing on August 23.
The charges stem from an incident on Monday, August 19, when police, acting on received information, intercepted a silver Toyota Belta motor car at Green Castle, Bendals.
McKenzie was in the vehicle along with 34-year-old O’Neil Swaby of Bendals at the time of the arrest.
During a search of the vehicle, law enforcement officers discovered the illegal firearm and ammunition in plain sight. Both men were subsequently arrested and jointly charged with unlawful possession of the weapon and ammunition.
However, in yesterday’s court proceedings, Swaby pleaded not guilty. As a result, the charges against Swaby were dropped.
Hope he receives a heavy fine, along with a payment plan similar to that offered to our Chinese golden boy Alex Feng, and having satisfied the terms of his sentence be placed on a flight ✈️, bound for China with a stop over in Jamaica.of course.
A bunch of criminals walking the streets of Antigua and Barbuda. We’ll this is a biased statement not Antigua alone. However they seem to be rampant.
Hmm,so what if that was just protection of what is going on in this country
An example need to be made now,so the criminals would see and think twice
