Prostate Cancer Survivor Urges Men to Get Screened

Prostate cancer survivor Eugene Hurst is urging men to prioritize regular screenings, emphasizing that early detection can save lives.
Sharing his experience on state television on Tuesday, Hurst warned that even men who feel fit or take supplements may be at high risk.
“Especially to these guys who go to the gym and use different supplements—you are at high risk for elevated PSA levels and potentially even prostate cancer,” Hurst explained. “You may think you’re big, strong, and fine, but you don’t know what’s happening inside.”
Hurst discovered his own prostate-specific antigen (PSA) levels were alarmingly high in 2017, despite having no symptoms.
He continued his gym routine during treatment but stopped using testosterone supplements after learning that they could contribute to cancer growth.
Hurst’s message is clear: “If prostate cancer is caught early, it can be cured.” He encourages all men, especially those who are active and use supplements, to get screened regularly.
