MP Kelvin ‘Shugy’ Simon

Kelvin “Shugy” Simon, the Member of Parliament for St Mary’s South representing the United Progressive Party (UPP), has refuted rumors suggesting that he plans to step down from his position.

It has been alleged that Simon, who is reportedly set to marry a US citizen, intends to relocate to the United States to join his spouse before the upcoming general elections.

The UPP has recently experienced a series of resignations, which the party has dismissed as orchestrated events.

Simon, in an interview with NewsCO, urged individuals, particularly those in the journalism field, to exercise greater responsibility during these sensitive times, emphasizing the importance of verifying information before disseminating it.

He expressed concern about the negative impact of the resignations on the party’s image and public confidence, citing the detrimental effects on the party’s prospects and the heightened psychological strain on the nation as a result of these developments.
