Local agriculture in Antigua and Barbuda is about to receive a significant boost through a month-long hands-on training program focused on hybrid pepper breeding, seed production, and cultivation techniques.

The training, which begins today is part of a bilateral agreement with China, will be led by experts from Yuan Longping High-Tech Agriculture Co Ltd.

The program aims to improve pepper production on the island by providing advanced technology and knowledge. It will cover various aspects of pepper cultivation, including breeding techniques, seed production, greenhouse construction, and pest management.

The training will be conducted by experts from China and is expected to benefit local farmers and agricultural enthusiasts.

The goal is to enhance pepper production across Antigua and Barbuda.

Yuan Longping High-Tech Agriculture Co, Ltd, a global leader in the hybrid rice seed business, has successfully trained close to 10,000 agricultural professionals from over 100 different countries.

The comprehensive training program is designed not only to impart knowledge but also to facilitate in-depth discussions on local agricultural challenges.

Participants will have the opportunity to delve into the current state of pepper production in Antigua and Barbuda, addressing critical issues such as climate adaptation, sustainable water resource management, and effective pest control strategies.

This initiative aims to empower agricultural professionals with the necessary skills and knowledge to tackle the unique challenges faced by their respective regions.
