Customs department records massive revenue collection

The Customs department has raked in close to $400 million for the first 10 months of 2024.

Comptroller of Customs Raju Boddu tells state media that this amount exceeds last year ‘s figure for the same time by over $70 million.

“First 10 months we have collected about 397.15 million which is about 70.59 million more than last year for the first 10 months. So, this is the growth story we have to tell the world in the Caribbean and also in the hemisphere,” he stated.

He adds that the Customs division is well on its way for another year of record growth.

“So, this is the growth story we have to tell the world in the Caribbean and also in the hemisphere.”

He attributes this success to a collaborative effort by custom officers.
