Cabinet to address misinformation regarding use of St Paul Empowerment Center for vaccinations

The Minister of Health, Sir Molwyn Joseph, updated his Cabinet colleagues on the progress of clinic repairs across the nation, including which clinics are now ready to accept patients.
The report addressed concerns raised on social media about the Liberta clinic and the use of an alternative site.

An operator at the St. Paul’s Empowerment Centre received a request from a nurse who claimed to have the proper authority, which led to the Parliamentary Representative authorizing the Centre at no cost for children’s vaccinations.

The Cabinet expressed disappointment that, as noted in the official memorandum, others with apparent political motives were misrepresenting what was a charitable act.
Additionally, the Cabinet has scheduled a press briefing for Thursday, November 14, 2024, to counter the misinformation spread by political adversaries.

The Cobbs Cross Clinic is reported to be over 95% finished and should be operational soon, although delays have been attributed to a labor shortage on the contractor’s team. Meanwhile, the Bolans Clinic has been completed and is now operational.

A lack of repair funding has hindered the readiness of several other clinics currently under repair. It was also mentioned that when the neighborhood center was used for vaccinations, the number of inoculations significantly increased compared to when the Liberta clinic was the primary site.
