On Saturday, St. John’s transformed into a bustling hub of activity as the cruise vessel Arvia made its grand entrance alongside three other ships.

The lively atmosphere continued into Sunday. The Arvia stayed overnight and was scheduled to depart at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday evening.

This particular visit marked the Arvia’s inaugural arrival for the cruise season. It is part of P&O Lines’ prestigious fleet.

This season, the vessel is set to make a memorable impact with its overnight stays each time it docks.

According to reports from the Antigua Cruise Port, four vessels were anchored in the harbor on Saturday.

Notably, two of these ships were engaged in home-porting activities. Among them was the Sea Dream 2, adding to the vibrant maritime scene.

A total of 714 passengers boarded the Arvia in Antigua, while 665 disembarked.

Additionally, there were 4,574 passengers who vacationed in Antigua. Consequently, the total passenger movement from the Arvia amounted to 5,953. For Sea Dream 2, 74 passengers boarded the cruise, and 57 disembarked; the overall movement of passengers here was 135, reported Operations Manager Rawle Reynolds.

The other two ships were Viking Sea, which carried 902 passengers, and Spirit of Discovery, with 956 passengers. 

On Saturday, there were a total of 7,946 passengers and 2,712 crew members, bringing the combined total of passengers and crew to over 11,000.
