Aldain Crump, the Director of Public Works

In a surprising turn of events, Prime Minister Gaston Browne, who previously threatened to remove Aldain Crump from his position, is now applauding the Director of Public Works for making significant improvements in his work approach.

During a recent episode of the community-oriented program, Community Matters, hosted by J.Truth the Engineer, Browne candidly addressed Crump’s previously half-hearted performance, acknowledging its negative impact on the upkeep and enhancement of the nation’s roads.

Browne characterized Crump’s earlier attitude as lackadaisical, expressing frustration that his focus seemed to lean more towards personal gains rather than the critical responsibilities he held towards the nation.

However, in a stark contrast to his previous stance, the Prime Minister has noted a remarkable change in Crump’s work ethic since voicing his concerns.

Speaking with a sense of relief, Browne remarked that Crump has undergone what could be described as a complete turnaround, demonstrating a newfound commitment to his duties.
He revealed that the public works director has been actively engaging in hands-on work, often putting in remarkable hours, including during the early, quiet moments of the morning.
Browne clarified that his previous comments were not meant to disparage Crump but were intended to draw attention to the importance of his public obligations.

Across the nation, residents have endured growing frustration as they have witnessed the steady decline in road conditions.

Give praise where praise is due, but have the balls to call out the wicked where and when necessary. Best wishes Adlai.

Mr Crump is the best Director Public Works ever had. Once the workers do their jobs and get the necessary resources, all will be well!

Aldain Crump is in that position for himself and not about improving the infrastructure of the country. One lazy man! Government is who own the quarry aggregates and the asphalt, so what is Aldain Crump problem for not utilizing the materials and fix our roadways structures including the guttering drainage/culvert? All he does in sit in air conditioning office and drive around in air conditioning vehicle. Mr. Crump, put your civil engineering degree into practice. That what happens when a hires incompetent people who don’t know how to apply their degrees into physical practice. Government needs to stop hiring friends and start hiring people who has the country and its at heart. Another thing, ministers of government need to let the people do their job and stop interfering.

Love your spitit my beloved Prime Ministe and good start public works department. Now fix the pot hole filled and man holes in the middle – roads. Fix them on Sundays and pay the workers time and a half. Move on to tearing down the old dilapidated buildings. Next ask owners to keep up their properties ( paint, keep grass cut, etc)and if they don’t then charge them for the privilege if public works has to do it for them. Let’s make and keep Antigua beautiful.
