A 48-year-old Villa resident has been remanded to prison attempting to kill a pastor.

Kanassa Robinson is charged with attempted murder, break in, robbery, and sacrilege, stemming from an alleged attack on Apostle Dr. Stephen Andrews on Sunday, November 24.

It is alleged that Robinson broke into the at the St John’s Pentecostal Church (SJPC) House of Restoration on Lauchland Benjamin Drive.

He reportedly attempted to shoot the pastor three times- though his weapon reportedly malfunctioned during the incident- when the pastor tried to stop the robbery.

He was reportedly able to steal a vehicle valued at $10,000.

The suspect was arrested and formally charged yesterday following an investigation by law enforcement.

He has been remanded to prison pending further legal proceedings.
