Once upon a lie, Senator Dwayne George promised to provide small businesses in St. Mary’s South with monthly subsistence. It’s been over a year, Senator, and the people are still waiting. Businesses were promised a lifeline, but instead, you left them gasping for air. How many businesses have you helped, Senator? Name them. It’s Christmas—a season of giving—but from you, all they’re getting is silence. Meanwhile, small businesses are barely hanging on, struggling to make ends meet.
Senator Dwayne George’s desperate attempt to deflect from his failures as Junior Minister of Finance is as transparent as it is disappointing. With direct access to resources and influence over financial decisions, you are uniquely positioned to deliver results. So, tell us, Senator—with the tools, title and treasury in your favor, why have you failed to deliver on your promises?
Then there’s the Bolans Playing Field fiasco. This field should be a sanctuary for our athletes, a place where our young cricketers and footballers can train, compete, and grow. But under your “leadership,” it’s become little more than a construction site littered with half-finished stadium seats. The project, launched as an election gimmick, has now been stalled for 18 months. No progress. No updates. Just dust and disappointment. Where’s the advocacy, Senator? Or are you waiting for another election to pretend to care? Cricket is in our blood, but under your watch, it’s barely on life support. Our youth deserve better. Our community deserves better.
And since you love talking about “narrow victories,” let’s review the facts. I won the seat in St. Mary’s South by 174 votes—and I did it with less money, fewer gimmicks, and no half-finished stadiums as bait. The ABLP poured millions into the by-election and still only managed to gain 29 more votes than Samantha Marshall. I didn’t just win; I won with integrity. Meanwhile, three ABLP MPs are sitting in Parliament right now after winning by margins of fewer than 100 votes. So, maybe next time you feel like talking about “narrow wins,” look around the halls of Parliament.
Here’s the reality: the people of St. Mary’s South don’t need empty promises. They need action. They need support for small businesses. They need a playing field where their children can actually play. They need a fully functional police station to address the rise in crime. They need a representative who spends less time attacking others and more time delivering results.
So keep flinging stones from your glass house, Senator. But unlike you, I’m not here to break glass. I’m here to build bridges—for small businesses, for athletes, and for the families of St. Mary’s South.
Signed,
Hon. Kelvin “Shugy” Simon
Representative for St. Mary’s South

Maybe you also can help the small businesses in your Constituency by continuing the “pull up”. That was a good initiative.
