Dear Editor,
I want to give a heads-up to my African sisters in Antigua and Barbuda: Syrian men are not looking to marry you. Sure, there’s a lot of attractive Syrian guys around, and they can be charming.
But let’s be real—they’re likely to head back home to choose a bride when they are ready to settle down. Many of them have done that and the trend is quite noticeable.
They’re super friendly and sweet, mainly because they’re here for business, and it benefits them to be nice.
While they’re around, they might take you out to nice places, hold your hand in public, or even let you stay with them.
There have been some genuine relationships where it seems like marriage could happen, and some might even develop real feelings. But in the end, marriage isn’t on their agenda.
I’m all for interracial relationships and have some Syrian friends I really like. But I’ve seen too many Antiguan women get hurt over the years, and that’s concerning.
If you’re just after a casual fling, a Syrian guy might be a good option. But if you’re looking for something serious and committed, it’s best to steer clear of them.
Just consider this a friendly warning.

And after which black men leave these women alone. Don’t save them
Who wrote this garbage? We have Syrian men who are married to ANTIGUAN WOMEN. Yes you read that right MARRIED to local women.
There are Syrian women who are also married to black men right here in Antigia.
Please do your research.
All in a day’s work stick to your own and stay in your lane
Dont get mixed up between Syrian and Lebanese; the latter would likely but the former would not.
How has this become an issue? This has been their policy from time immemorial. And why should black women want to marry these people anyway? This, though, is really a sad indictment on local black men, and on Antiguan and Barbudan black men especially. The same is probably true with respect to black women in general, and in particular Antiguan and Barbudan black women.
Lol Janice sound like a woman scorned by a Syrian.
First of all this is garbage. What is your research supporting this claim. Marriage is not a get up and go thing. It takes time and if people are not compatible so be it. But you can’t just make this claim and not have numbers or cites to show this. It makes us seem prejudice and this is come from a black male.
2) the third comment is utter ignorance. Your true feelings are being shown in your words, “these people”? These are the same “people” that you buy your commodities from like it or not.
Somebody feelings got hurt.
Antigua.news. why yall gotz to be like this? What a gold laugh this morning. Honestly I have a friend who dated a Syrian who owns a local shop and he was very good to her. They traveled together and he spent good money on her and treated her like a queen. Unfortunately he didn’t tell her he was already married in Syria. But she didn’t care. They are still together. It works for her and she don’t mind that at all. Whether he would marry her one day I don’t know.
🤣🤣🤣
Then don’t date them! There’s an obvious religious obstacle. As it stands, Antiguan men won’t marry Antiguan women! When our own men don’t value us, who will? Better yet, when we don’t value ourselves, WHY SHOULD ANYONE ELSE??!! I’ve seen how our young women have devolved into golddigging, loose-moraled, scantily clad, low IQ, sex-bots! Why would anyone consider marrying them?
Black women should really take this seriously. Yes Syrians does not marry black women instead the make them slaves to do their cleaning and household chores. Just ask any black women from Africa, how they have been treated , and that is if they can return to Africa alive or uninjured. People please do more reading and watch international news
Lol just here for the comments 🤣….
Wome up to this again on facebook. Yall just messy in here. I would never be with a Syrian. I might wake up to words like Allah and that ain’t good.
