Althea “Queen Althea” Williams is set to represent Antigua and Barbuda at the 2024 Regional Queen of Queens Calypso Competition, which will take place on December 30 at 8:00 PM in Carnival City, Montserrat.

The Ministry of Education, Sports, and the Creative Industries has announced that Queen Althea, who achieved second place in the 2024 Calypso Monarch competition, stands out as the highest-ranking female artist in this year’s Antigua Carnival Calypso Monarch.

Her return to the calypso scene after a six-year break has garnered significant praise, particularly for her 2024 anthem, “Won’t Bow Down,” which has struck a chord with audiences.

The Regional Queen of Queens Competition will showcase leading female calypsonians from across the Caribbean, including participants from Trinidad & Tobago and Montserrat.

The Ministry expresses its unwavering support for Queen Althea and urges all citizens to unite in backing her as she represents Antigua and Barbuda’s vibrant calypso heritage on the regional platform.

Additionally, the Ministry of Education, Sports, and the Creative Industries has released a video highlighting Queen Althea’s compelling performance of “Won’t Bow Down” in anticipation of the competition.
