In his address to the nation last night, Prime Minister Gaston Browne discussed the ongoing efforts to address the nation’s long-standing infrastructural challenges.

Residents in Antigua and Barbuda have long dealt with issues such as crumbling public infrastructure, overcrowded schools, and inadequate utilities, but the current administration is committed to enacting significant changes.

For a long time, the people of Antigua and Barbuda have expressed frustration over deteriorating public facilities, insufficient water supply, and unreliable electricity.

Successive administrations have struggled to make meaningful progress on these pressing issues. However, the present government insists that they are tackling these challenges head-on.

Prime Minister Gaston Browne said his ABLP government is committed to upgrading the Sir Lester Bird Mount St. John’s Hospital and establishing health centers across our communities.

He said his government is also dedicated to ensuring that civil servants, police, doctors, nurses, and teachers are compensated fairly while enhancing the educational infrastructure.

In efforts to improve public facilities, substantial renovations have been conducted on various government properties, while new schools have been constructed alongside refurbished ones to alleviate overcrowding, according to PM Browne

He said the administration is also addressing the needs of society’s vulnerable populations. By providing aid to those in need, it aims to create a more equitable environment for all citizens.

Notably, the government according to PM Browne has committed to enhancing road infrastructure, with plans to tackle ongoing issues affecting water supply.

“Although these problems cannot be solved overnight, we have approached them with purpose and determination,” he said

In a bid to accelerate road repairs across the nation, EC$21 million worth of road construction equipment is set to be deployed in 2025, signifying a commitment to improving transportation networks and access for communities.

With these measures in place, the government hopes to reinforce its dedication to rebuilding and modernizing the infrastructure necessary for sustainable growth and development in Antigua and Barbuda.

The people are encouraged to remain optimistic as these initiatives unfold in the months and years to come.

You may delete the comment but I am sure you get the message. Late last year you seemed very opposed to using A.I. You boasted that you had PIAD reporters, you boasted that it was real people writing your stories NOT A.I. You said it was your competitor using A.I and said that their keyboards were dusty for lack of usage. Now, on this 1st day of January 2025, every single news you have written is by a.i? The same ghost that you spoke about.
