After an impressive record-setting year in 2024, the cruise industry has kicked off the new year on a positive note.

On Thursday, five cruise ships arrived in the country, bringing over 12,000 visitors eager to explore its many attractions.

The ships included the Enchanted Princess from Princess Cruises, the Resilient Lady from Virgin Voyages, the MSC Virtuosa from MSC Cruises, and Azamara Journey from Azamara Club Cruises, all of which docked at St. John’s Harbour. Meanwhile, Star Flyer from Star Clippers docked at Falmouth Harbour.

In 2024, more than 800,000 cruise passengers made their way to Antigua and Barbuda, exceeding the previous record set in 2019.

Between Friday and Sunday, an additional five cruise ships are scheduled to arrive: SeaDream 1 will dock at Falmouth on Friday, while Sea Cloud Spirit will arrive at the Nevis Street Pier. On Saturday, the Viking Sea and Marella Explorer will visit, and on Sunday, Mein Schiff 2 is expected to arrive.
