No Threat to Residents as Concerns About Human Papilloma Virus Heighten

Health Minister Sir Molwyn Joseph has reassured the public about the human metapneumovirus (HPMV), stating there is no significant threat to people in Antigua and Barbuda.

He informed his Cabinet colleagues that while there have been cases worldwide, including in the United States, reports of an outbreak in China have been exaggerated.

Sir Molwyn clarified that there are no credible reports of an outbreak in China that would justify closing borders.

He noted that the World Health Organization (WHO) is actively addressing unfounded rumors about a new virus spreading globally.

The Minister emphasized that no country has enacted extraordinary defensive measures.

The Ministry of Health continues to urge citizens and residents to be cautious but reassures them that there is no risk of a pandemic at this time.

Why isn’t our CMO addressing this issue instead of the poor excuse we have for a health minister. Our health system is in shambles under your watch.
