Court Orders Forfeiture of Over $14 Million USD and €17 Million Euros

On 13th November 2024, Justice Rene Williams of the High Court granted the Attorney General a Recovery Order to forfeit all property of the Panamanian company Creswell Overseas SA held at Meinl Bank (Antigua) Ltd., amounting to over $14 million and €17 million.

This action followed investigations by the Office of National Drug and Money Laundering Control Policy (ONDCP), which froze the funds after Creswell failed to prove the legitimacy of its business contracts.

The investigations revealed links to the Brazilian company Odebrecht, tied to the Operation Car Wash scandal involving bribery in construction contracts.

The ONDCP Director, Lt. Col Edward Croft, expressed satisfaction with the investigations, highlighting that the ONDCP’s efforts in 2024 resulted in the recovery of assets valued over $35 million.
