The AUA Rohrman Trail & Swim Fest is thrilled to welcome back David Hauss, French Olympian and trail running champion, for the event’s 11th edition on April 19-20, 2025. This marks a continuation of the festival’s rich tradition of hosting world-class athletes and showcasing Antigua and Barbuda’s unparalleled natural beauty.
David Hauss: A World-Class Competitor and Inspiration
David Hauss’s return to the Rohrman underscores the event’s international reputation. Known for his 4th place finish at the London 2012 Olympics in triathlon and numerous victories in elite competitions like the Le Grand Raid de la Réunion, Hauss adds prestige and intensity to the 25KM trail race.
Hauss’s exceptional triathlon career includes a gold medal at the 2015 European Triathlon Championships and multiple podiums finishes in World Triathlon Series events. He has transitioned seamlessly into trail running, where he continues to shine. His trail accomplishments include:
🏔 Three consecutive victories at the Le Grand Raid de la Réunion – Trail de Bourbon (2016, 2017, 2018), a grueling 111.2KM race with 6,490m+ of elevation gain through the rugged landscapes of Réunion Island.
⏱ Setting a record for the ascent and round trip of Piton des Neiges, completing the journey in 8 hours, 58 minutes.
🥇 Winner of the Wild Strubel by UTMB 2022 – Wild 108, covering 108KM with 6,000m+ elevation gain in 12:26:06.
Hauss’s participation serves as both a benchmark and a motivator for local athletes. Last year, Antigua’s Kamar Thomas pushed his limits to secure second place behind Hauss in the 15KM trail race. This opportunity to compete against global talent exemplifies how the AUA Rohrman fosters growth and inspiration for the local athletic community.
