34% Increase in Tourist Arrivals Compared to 2019

In light of recent events, there has been a growing concern for the safety of tourists visiting the country, particularly those arriving by cruise ships.

The authorities are now elevating security protocols to provide better protection for visitors following a troubling incident on Monday in which two cruise ship tourists were allegedly robbed at Fort James Beach.

The reported robbery involved a couple who were enjoying their time at the beach when two masked men approached them, armed and demanding their belongings.

The thieves made off with a fanny pack containing a mobile phone and cash, escaping the scene in a small silver car.

This alarming incident, described in a STRATCOM media release, occurred around 9:30 am, highlighting a need for increased vigilance in popular tourist areas.

As part of their commitment to safety, law enforcement is implementing enhanced security measures to deter future incidents.
