This weekend, a significant increase in water production is anticipated following the confirmation from the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) that the expansion of the reverse osmosis plant at Ffryes Beach has been completed, along with the necessary supply line connections.
Beginning today, Friday, the facility is set to start generating one million gallons of water daily to support various communities, especially those in the southern part of the island.
The pumps at the Ffryes Beach RO plant were expected to be activated on Tuesday, January 28. As per APUA’s plans, one pump will direct water northward, reaching as far as St. John’s, while the other will deliver supplies southward to cater to the needs of residents in areas such as Johnson’s Point, Cades Bay, Old Road, and others.
To enhance water production across the island, the government has entered into a partnership with Seven Seas Water Group, a company based in Florida.
