Twenty six students of the Divine Academy of Excellence received firsthand knowledge about waste management, pollution and environmental responsibility during a recent field trip.

The National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) hosted the students on a visit to the Cooks Sanitary Landfill.

From a high viewing platform, students saw firsthand the meticulous process of waste management.

They watched as trucks delivered waste, while bulldozers compacted and covered it with soil to minimize environmental impact.

An engaging question-and-answer segment followed, allowing students to share their thoughts on pollution in Antigua and Barbuda, the significance of recycling and potential solutions to waste-related challenges.
