A bus driver was convicted of serious indecency but acquitted of rape charges in a verdict delivered yesterday afternoon by a jury.
The man, who is in his early 50s, faced criminal charges related to a February 2023 incident involving a 21-year-old woman with a developmental disability.
The victim, who functions at an adolescent cognitive level, met Emmanuel through social media before the incident occurred at an abandoned building on February 15, 2023.
During the trial, the prosecution presented evidence that Emmanuel drove the victim to the location where the alleged assault took place.
The defence, led by attorney Lawrence Daniels, maintained that the relationship was consensual, claiming Emmanuel believed the victim was capable of giving consent.
After deliberation, the jury found the man guilty of forcing the victim to perform oral sex but not guilty of rape.
Emmanuel’s sentencing has been scheduled for March 14.
Why he didn’t preform oral sex on himself
I doubt this was his first time taking advantage of a female person of that type. Some men just love to pray on the weak, and a public transportation driver at that
Let’s hope that he learns after all this to PRAY for the weak and not PREY on them. A big old man like that in his fifties!!! He deserves no less than fifteen (15) years.
This is so sad. So sick. The woman is disabled. How could you do that?
I hope they castrate him. Cut off his dirty stinking penis
