Antigua and Barbuda Shines at 2025 Caribbean Baking Awards

The 2025 Caribbean Baking Awards celebrated the culinary talents of the region, with Antigua and Barbuda making a significant mark. After months of online voting, bakers from Antigua and Barbuda earned multiple awards, underscoring their growing reputation in the baking industry.

One of the standout winners was Lana Williams, who was honored as Cake Hero for her impressive creations, which have charmed both locals and visitors alike. Additionally, the Kenden bakery received accolades for Best Cupcake, showcasing the innovative flavors and designs that have become a staple in the island’s vibrant food scene.

The event took place at the Multi-Purpose Sports Complex in Road Town, Tortola, British Virgin Islands on Saturday following the Ultimate Bake-Off.

Bakers across the Caribbean participated. The awards ceremony recognized individual talents and highlighted the collective spirit of the baking community throughout the region.

Among the other notable winners was Cara Christopher from the British Virgin Islands, who captured the Rising Star of the Year title, and Juana France, also from the BVI, who won Best Specialty Baked Goods. The BVI garnered attention in four categories, illustrating the competitive spirit of the awards.

The Caribbean Baking Awards, now in its second year, was made possible through the generous support of sponsors, including the BVI Tourist Board and the Ministry of Tourism, Culture, and Sustainable Development. Many bakers expressed gratitude for the recognition and optimism for the event’s growth in the future.

As the baking community continues to thrive in the Caribbean, Antigua and Barbuda exemplifies the rich culinary heritage and creativity that defines the region, inspiring future generations of bakers.
