Introducing Guava de Art at Open Studio

Art is everywhere and our artists are many! But we hardly speak about local art. We rarely speak to local artists, about their work, journey and how they have managed to develop and sustain their creative practice. And that is precisely what Open Studio, a local artist talk series, is about.

Gracing the stage on Tuesday, March 04 is Guava de Art, a prolific conceptual artist whose work has made it as far as the United Kingdom and Japan.

Guava’s love of art started with comic strips and has since been unleashed on canvas, large and small, and into the 3-D world of sculpture.

Open Studio will be hosted at UWI Global Campus on the first and third Tuesdays of each month from 6pm to 7pm from March until July.

This artist talk series presents the opportunity for anyone interested in our local art and artists to engage with the people who continually build and expand the cultural tapestry of Antigua and Barbuda through their own creative expression.

Open Studio – Guava’s Work

Open Studio is an opportunity for attendees of the talks to learn more about the art scene in Antigua. It is an opportunity to learn about the people and places which constitute it and to create connections with established and emerging creatives by not only listening to and watching prepared presentations but also by interacting with them in the Question & Answer segments.
