Communications professional Angelica O’Donoghue

Communications professional Angelica O’Donoghue has been recognized with the prestigious 2025 Woman of Wadadli Award for Excellence in Media.

The accolade, presented by the Directorate of Gender Affairs in partnership with the Caribbean Union Bank, honors her among seventeen outstanding women for their significant contributions to nation-building in various sectors.

“I have always been passionate about communication in all its forms—how we express ourselves through speaking, listening, writing, reading, and interpretation is one of our greatest assets,” she reflected.

The award ceremony unfolded on Saturday evening at the Sir John E St. Luce Conference Centre located on Factory Road. Surrounded by family and friends, O’Donoghue described the experience as “deeply humbling and inspiring.”

She highlighted the critical need to support and uplift one another. “To every girl and woman striving to create change—keep pushing forward, claim your spaces, and make sure your voices resonate. As Laurel Thatcher Ulrich wisely said, ‘Well-behaved women rarely make history,’” she remarked.

Expressing heartfelt gratitude to the Directorate of Gender Affairs and Caribbean Union Bank for recognizing her commitment to empowering women and girls, O’Donoghue emphasized the event’s timely significance, as it marks the beginning of Women’s History Month.
