A 42-year-old Jamaican construction worker was found guilty today by a jury in the case of indecent assault involving a 10-year-old girl, bringing closure to legal proceedings that began following the March 2022 incident.
The verdict comes after a trial where the man faced serious allegations of inappropriately touching the minor while living as a tenant in her family’s home.
According to court testimony, the accused had been living with the child, her mother, and her two younger brothers for six months before the incident occurred when he was 39 years old.
Evidence presented during the trial revealed that the mother, also Jamaican, had invited him to share her home as a roommate due to financial difficulties after the birth of her youngest child.
She testified that she trusted him because of his connection with her child’s father and other mutual friends, charging him $450 per month for rent.
The prosecutor, Curtis Cornelius,successfully argued that on the evening of March 29, 2022, the man placed his hand on the child’s bottom or thigh area and kissed her near her lip.
Following today’s guilty verdict, sentencing has been scheduled for later this month, March 28.

Roll out the electric chair for God sake. These men in society are sickening. Your only thing in that house was to pay your rent and go about your working day. How can you be attracted to a whole 10 year old child. Never the less kissing her near her lips and touching her bottom. This is why we must be careful of the nasty dutty men we let near our precious kids.
Alot of them bring their sickness from where they come from. Remember to send him back a yard when he done he jail time.
Not that I’m blaming the mother but why would u expose your children to a man you barely know.
