A triumphant welcoming salute for Khan Cordice

The Ministry of Education, Sports, and the Creative Industries, in collaboration with the Caribbean Union Bank Hells Gate Steel Orchestra, extended a warm and festive welcome for Khan Cordice the Director of Culture and Arranger of the Hells Gate Steel Orchestra on Sunday, March 9th, at the V.C. Bird International Airport.

The celebratory atmosphere was witnessed by Senator Shenella Govia, Minister of State in the Ministry of Education, Sports, and the Creative Industries, who delivered heartfelt remarks on behalf of the Honourable Daryll Matthew and the ministry.

She expressed immense pride in his recent accomplishments, stating, “We are immensely proud of your achievements and eagerly anticipate the remarkable contributions you will continue to make in promoting our culture and the creative arts.”

The welcoming ceremony was a vibrant display of cultural pride, with enthusiastic support from members of the Hells Gate Steel Orchestra, family, friends, and well-wishers who gathered to show their appreciation and admiration.

Adding to the celebration were spirited performances by dancers from the Department of Culture, who dazzled the crowd with their artistry and grace.

The Pointe and Villa Iron Band infused the event with traditional sounds, while the Hells Gate Steel Orchestra delivered a powerful musical performance, creating a true carnival-like atmosphere.

The Ministry of Education, Sports, and the Creative Industries remain committed to supporting the arts and providing platforms for cultural ambassadors to shine both locally and internationally.
