Mehul Choksi has obtained an F Residency Card in Belgium, enabling him to reside there with his wife, Preeti Choksi, who holds Belgian citizenship. He is also a citizen of Antigua and Barbuda through investment.

According to an Associated Times report, Choksi acquired Belgian residency on November 15, 2023, allegedly utilizing deceptive and fraudulent documents to avoid extradition to India.

Choksi is wanted in India for defrauding Punjab National Bank (PNB) of more than $2 billion and has a track record of dodging legal proceedings.

His relocation to Belgium further complicates the efforts of Indian authorities to seek justice.

India is putting pressure on Belgium for his extradition. Despite gaining residency in Belgium, Choksi has not formally renounced his Indian citizenship.

The report indicates that he misrepresented his nationality during the application process for residency, failing to reveal details about his existing citizenship.

Upon discovering Choksi’s presence in Belgium, Indian officials made a formal extradition request. However, obtaining an F Residency Card may permit Choksi to travel freely within European nations, complicating India’s efforts to keep track of him and bring him back for trial.

Choksi is reportedly planning to move to Switzerland to seek medical treatment at Hirslanden Klinik Aarau, a renowned cancer hospital. According to reports, he suffers from cancer and other complications.

  1. Please, hurry up! Sign whatever needs to be signed so that he can relinquish any and all rights to Antigua/Barbuda citizenship. Only the desperate lub-money UPP will miss him. To God be the glory!

  4. The day will.come when this man will get a break to live his life in peace…whatsoever he has left of it. The man is ailing and India is seemingly more concerned about their money than anything else. Give the man a break let him enjoy his last days without him feeling that he is on the run…even if he is
