Latesha Latoya Azille has made history as the first female Antiguan pilot at a major U.S. airline, joining Delta Air Lines as a First Officer.

Her induction took place during a wing ceremony at the Delta Flight Museum in Atlanta on March 19, 2025, coinciding with Delta’s centennial celebrations and Women’s History Month.

Azille’s journey in aviation began in 2016 with LIAT, and despite challenges like the pandemic, she continued to progress, eventually piloting for World Atlantic Airlines before landing her role at Delta.

Educated in Antigua and holding a double major from the University of the West Indies, Azille credits her community and solid educational foundation for her success. She is dedicated to mentoring young women in aviation and exemplifies resilience, having been born prematurely.

Her accomplishments serve as an inspiration for Caribbean women and girls, highlighting that no dream is too bold. As she begins this new chapter, Azille embraces her role as a trailblazer in the field.
