In a concerning incident yesterday, a vehicle narrowly avoided colliding with two women on the Royalton Road around 6:00 AM. One of the women was hit by the vehicle but was unharmed.
She sought medical attention and was given a brace for her arm after the car knocked her right arm.
Witnesses reported that the vehicle was traveling at a high speed when it nearly struck the pedestrians. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported, but the close call has raised alarms about pedestrian safety on the island.
Authorities are urging all joggers and walkers in the area to exercise heightened caution while traveling along this route.
Officials are reminding residents and visitors to remain vigilant and adhere to pedestrian safety measures.
The local community is encouraged to report any reckless driving to ensure the safety of everyone using the road.
As morning joggers and walkers are common on Royalton Road, it is crucial for both drivers and pedestrians to stay alert. The community is also advised to consider wearing bright or reflective clothing to increase visibility during early morning hours.
Seen an incident yesterday at the Robinson Gas Station where a lady was crossing (already in the middle of the road) and a Kia Sportage coming from the Antigua Plumbing side, drove directly into the lady
🫨🫨🫨whoa! Be careful people
These drivers don’t care about the safety of pedestrians. You could be crossing on the pedestrian crossing and a vehicle will come at you full speed. You’ll almost believe the road only belongs to them
Let me be devil’s advocate here what about the pedistrians especially women not walking at the side of the road or wearing reflective garments
You have to be very cautious when walking on these streets especially on roads with a heavy vehicle flow. Drivers these days just don’t care about their surroundings, they drive anyhow they feel
Go carefully and with caution always
