More than 1,000 people have died in Myanmar, and many more are injured after a 7.7 magnitude earthquake. The quake was also felt in nearby countries.

In Bangkok, Thailand, officials believe at least 15 people are trapped under a collapsed high-rise building, and around 100 people are still unaccounted for.

Rescue teams in Mandalay, Myanmar’s second-largest city, report that they are digging people out by hand.

Myanmar’s military leaders have asked for international aid, with China and India among the first countries to offer help.

Air strikes are still happening in Myanmar, as reported by the People’s Defense Force.
