D. Gisele Isaac speaks on Anthony Smith controversy (file photo)

On Saturday, it was announced by the ABLP Leader Gaston Browne that Smith would be running on his ticket for All Saints West in the next general elections.

Last July, Smith Jr, sent shockwaves through the nation as he resigned from the UPP.

A few days later the Independent MP was sworn in as the new Minister if Agriculture, lands, fisheries and the Blue Economy, a portfolio he still holds.

In his resignation letter, Smith cited his disagreement with the recent directions and decisions made by the UPP leadership.

A similar dissatisfaction from three sitting MPs Kelvin Simon, Richard Lewis and Algernon ‘Serpant’ Watts was echoed over the weekend.

I think they should leave the ego behind and talk to each other and work for the good of the island and not for the sake of it.

Do you mean that he went somewhere where he could enrich himself? When he was with the UPP, he discussed fixing this and that in the country. Now, he is with the ruling government, which is controlling the country’s finances; he still cannot resolve those situations he mentioned while with the UPP. Our agriculture sector needs a serious overhaul and restructuring. We need to be able to feed ourselves by 70% to 80% and reduce the importation bill. Both political parties in the country need new blood who is/are serious about progress.

Too little, too late. The Three Musketeers have finally pinched de Jezebel’s last nerve! The ice-house to which she retreated daily and which helped to keep her frozen mask in place – lipstick, weave and all – has begun to melt, exposing her her true “hag” character a la Former Speaker’s description. Even the writings on the wall have begun to melt as the fire under her oversized feet gets hotter with each passing day. Her excuses have intensified.; herveiled threats mocked and largely ignored; Her pathetic attempts to ward off demands for punishment akin to that of 18th century Marie Antoinette by trying to tarnish further the character of poor Anthony Smith who has long moved as far as he could from the UPP sewer. Why rehash the Snith affair? Still in control mode, she hopes to caution any of the remaining troops against even daring to consider a remarriage of sorts with the “traitor” Smith. Poor, poor deJezebel! Instead of humbly requesting a few days to get her ruffled feathers smoothed back into place, she has made it clear that she is going nowhere!!! She nar move…..well, not until the next convention. She has finally come to the realization that has become an irrelevant stumbling block to progress of the UPP if that is at all possible. Still in control mode she has decided to preempt this important announcement which MUST inevitably follow the behind-the-curtain powwow announced recently by the doomed Pringle in order to quench the Three Musketeers ‘thirst for blood. Stay tuned for more of this tragicomedy.

So…let me get this straight. Are you saying that Mr Smith was in talks with ABLP all the time and you knew? Why didn’t you blow the whistle? Gizzy girl, your lies are showing! Your stinking attitude ran the young man just admit! You said you were done with running since last time and as the people started calling for him as chairman, you couldn’t take it so you decided to run again to keep him out. You tried to smear his name saying he had a young family and didn’t have time to dedicate because you literally couldn’t find anything negative to say. Just cut the bs.

How can she blow the whistle? She is a member of the ABLP and has always been an ABLP member, and she will always be one. Never trust a former supporter, especially a strong one. She was assigned to cripple the UPP, similar to Judas was assigned to betray Jesus Christ.

Isn’t it time for the UPP to grow up and act like they are ready and have the fight in them and is serious ready to take over and run the country. ???
We are not interesting in your internal chaos….fight and battle it out behind closed doors.
You think the ABLP dont have larger internal problems, but what ever is there internal problem they always come out to the public as a unit ready to defend and hold on to the
power they have as ruler of this nation.

But tell me exactly what are you the UPP fight about and fighting for…LEADERSHIP POSITION….OR WINNING AN ELECTION …AND RESCUE THIS NATION???
Exact what are you leading…..you are in opposition…you have nothing to lead, your focus should be winning the election at any cost not matter who is the leader…..WINNING THE ELECTIONS SHOULD BE THE ONLY THING YOU SHOULD BE FIGHTING FOR AND THINKING ABOUT..

WE the general public do not care about your pitty party internal squabbles….pull up your big drass /g string and brief /boxers and fight behind closed doors. as big man and woman
We need to see a party ready to fight to death to reclaim our fair island of ANTIGUA AND BARBUDA.
THEN AND ONLY THE WE WILL STAND WITH AND FIGHT WITH YOU.
THE PEOPLE IS READY TO FIGHT WE WILL DIE TO RECLAIM OUR FAIR LAND.
Where are you ???? we are ready.. Are you ready…UPP candidates /CARETAKER.??????

PS : as it looks right now if an electrician is called right now , the very individual that you are fighting against in leadership,/power hungry struggle battle, just might be the saving grace and the only seat the party wins, if you don’t unite and make winning the election. Your first and only focus/fight.

    WE NEED OUR COUNTRY BACK.
Where are you UPP…UNITY IS STRENGTH. NOT LEADERSHIP…
