Amid mounting internal criticism and a growing rift within the United Progressive Party (UPP), opposition leader Jamale Pringle is urging unity among party members.

Over the weekend, three MP’s, Algernon Watts, Richard Lewis, and Kelvin Simon, bashed Pringle over what they deemed was poor leadership.

They said, without holding back, that Pringle and the Chair of the UPP D. Gisele Isaac, were responsible for many of the walk-outs within the UPP over the past few months.

But during his “Straight Talk” program on Monday night, Pringle addressed the public scrutiny that emerged over the weekend from fellow UPP parliamentarians, emphasizing the importance of resolving disputes privately.

“Every organization faces challenges, and the United Progressive Party is no exception,” Pringle remarked, reinforcing his commitment to handling these matters discreetly. He explicitly stated his reluctance to engage in any public confrontations that could harm the party’s image.

Pringle reminded party members to adhere to the UPP constitution, stressing that public disagreements only serve to empower the ruling Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party.

“I urge the public to allow us to tackle our issues internally,” he stated. “We shouldn’t escalate this into a public spectacle.”

The UPP has faced significant turbulence following the 2023 General Elections, marked by high-profile resignations including former senator Dr. Edmond Mansoor and former public relations officer Damani Tabor, both citing concerns about leadership and unity. Additionally, former Opposition MP Anthony Smith has distanced himself from the party, joining the ranks of Independents.

Did this wimp of a leader, Pringle’ chastise the ex-convict pedophile for his disgraceful conduct at your “rally” last week??? He obviously has allowed himself to reflect the same arrogant, infallibility as his leader. They were caught completely unawares by the swift, painful and very public response of the Three Musketeers who, to their great credit, managed to deliver a TKO punch that reverberated around the world, forcing the super mighty untouchables to their once proud knees. I just love it when men stand up and can be counted as men. How long did the Pringle/Isaac faction think they could act so condescendingly and with impunity.
Just look at the long list and caliber of the illustrious men and women who had to endure their low-class conduct!!
Joanne Massiah, Anthony Stuart, Malaika Parker, Dr. Mansoor, Dr. Benjamin, Hon.Anthony Smith, Damani Tabor, Lamin Newton and others. Unbelievable!!!!!. Such talent from such a wide intellectual pool, all disrespected and rejected.
Now, herein lies the greatest irony of it all: It took three of the LEAST accomplished in the arena to finally get management to sit up, wake up and take note. Unbelievable!!
