Five contestants have been officially revealed for this year’s Queen of Carnival competition during an elegant reveal ceremony held at the Pescari Restaurant at Royalton CHIC Resort.

The Ministry of Creative Industries presented the contestants in grand style, introducing them and then announcing their sponsors. During the event, contestants also had the opportunity to select their order of appearance for the upcoming pageant.

The contestants for this year’s competition are:

Contestant Number 1 – Kia Kirwan, representing Miss ACB Caribbean

Contestant Number 2 – Kaaliyha Guiste, representing Miss Antigua Masonry Products

Contestant Number 3 – Danijha Simon, representing Miss Furniture Gallery

Contestant Number 4 – Abigail Piper, representing Miss Boardwalk Casino

Contestant Number 5 – Asheila Pluck, representing Miss Antigua Port Authority

The Queen of Carnival competition is scheduled for July 20th and will be presented under the theme “Celestial: Illuminate, Inspire, Reign.”

Contestants will compete in several segments including interview, swimwear, performing talent, costume, and evening wear. This year’s costume segment features a special twist, with each presentation required to incorporate an element of light, aligning with the celestial theme of the competition.

  1. What is carnival really? A celebration of what? Think about it. Are we celebrating life, slavery, freedom from captivity, immorality, hooliganism, vulgarity, nakedness, death?? Every year at a certain time we spend all this time and money preparing for carnival. We go fetting, drinking, dancing, fight with one another, sometimes kill, drive recklessly injuring innocent people .. and we call it celebrating carnival.. But what is carnival?????

    • Your point is so valid! I wonder what are we really celebrating around these times. All I see is naked and vulgar people on the street. They don’t even know what to do for themselves. Carnival suppose to be a celebration but what are we celebrating right now? I need to know now!
