Prime Minister Gaston Browne speaking on Alfa Nero Files on ABS lastnight

Prime Minister Gaston Browne expressed no regrets over the sale of the Alfa Nero during a panel discussion on ABS last night.

He emphasized that the superyacht presented significant risks to Antigua and Barbuda, especially concerning potential environmental hazards.

Since its sale to a Turkish billionaire, the government has faced numerous legal challenges.

Browne highlighted concerns that the vessel could sink, which could lead to liabilities costing millions to simply maintain its docking at Falmouth Harbour.

  1. THIS GOVERNMENT decided to play with the Big Dogs and grabbed what they believed would have been an easy money cash cow. After all, America and other European countries were doing the same thing weren’t they? They thought it would have been easy peasy. BUT then the Golden Goose became an Alba-tross to the PEOPLE OF ANTIGUA, because it was WE THE PEOPLE who were left to pay the never ending bills from.day one.

AND THEN, they had the temerity to tell, WE THE PEOPLE, that we were not worthy to receive the details of monies spent and monies received, after the Alba-tross was sold?

You are now laying the blame of this lawsuit at the doors of UPP, FOR YOUR BAD ACTS, YOUR SCREW UP.

This one people ya-so-so, will NEVER BE FOOLED!

  6. I hope that for this country’s sake, we are found without fault in this serious matter. Too many leaders are wrapped up in stuff that can sully their reputations.

  7. Gaston Browne is a wicked liar. How much fuel can a sill boat consume? It was not sailing, it was anchored. The amount of money to maintain a still boat in a harbour is zero. I have a yacht and it does not cost me a cent to anchor it out from the dock. You are nothing but a notorious gangster and thief. You will pay and that’s for sure.
