Old Runway resident Ed Archibald is set to face sentencing today after pleading guilty to charges related to the possession of an illegal firearm and ammunition.

Archibald was apprehended by a police unit patrolling the St. John’s area on Saturday, where officers discovered him in possession of a Ruger .380 handgun along with six rounds of ammunition that matched the weapon.

During his appearance in District B of the Magistrate’s Court on Monday, Archibald chose to plead guilty to the charges. He previously explained to authorities that he intended to turn in the firearm and ammunition at the police station as part of the recently announced government gun amnesty program.

Sentencing is expected to take place later today, and the case has drawn attention as part of broader efforts to curb illegal firearms in the community.

  1. I don’t think a 50 Year Old has time for criminal activities. Unless he had it for protection and now he wants to take it in. but instead of allowing him the chance y’all arrested him. this is why people will never bring in their illegal fire arm.

    • Mr. Carter, in life, you trust no one. even a 80 year old can decide to kill and steal. so rethink your words. If he wanted to take it in then he should’ve done it a long time and not wait until you’re arrested

  2. If he really was trying to turn it in, I hope the court considers that. Gun amnesty only works if people trust the process.

  3. Still illegal to walk around with it tho. Should’ve gone straight to the station, not roaming with it

  4. Come on, you don’t just walk around with a loaded gun talking about you’re bringing it in “eventually.” That’s not how it works. We have to stop making excuses. An Illegal gun is still an illegal gun. It’s about public safety. He can say he was bringing it in just to be let off the hook.

  5. lol. This is so hillarous. He was bringing it eh. This man is a trouble maker since when. He lived like a gangster. He would be stupid to think that police would believe his story
