Ridge Turner pleaded guilty before Magistrate Ngaio Emanuel this morning to charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, while charges against his two co-defendants were withdrawn.
Turner, 33, of Parham, has been remanded into custody until Wednesday when he will appear for sentencing.
The guilty plea stems from an incident that occurred around 5:30 am on Saturday, April 26, when officers from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Task Force were conducting a mobile patrol in the Grays Farm area.
Police observed Turner behaving suspiciously and conducted a search, which resulted in the discovery of one .32mm pistol and one round of ammunition on his person.
In a separate but related incident, Turner had also been charged alongside 34-year-old Tristan Armstrong of Golden Grove and 31-year-old Kasey Wendrick of Crosbies for unlawful possession of a .32mm round of ammunition.
According to police reports, officers found the ammunition inside a vehicle occupied by all three individuals in Grays Farm on the same morning.
These charges against Armstrong and Wendrick have now been withdrawn.
They didn’t know he had a gun? What if they had intentions? Hmmmmm
hmmmmm. Antiguans don’t stop at nothing. I will always cry about the Amnesty. It’s there take the gun in. And once they don’t voluntarily take this gun charge them hard
Jail time for you and another gun off the streets, but I still don’t understand why they prefer 1735 to freedom. Maybe, just maybe things are not as bad as they say it is
Send them to jail and let them do the time. Jail thing not making sense because it seems like everybody running to go jail.
They must investigate to find out where he got that weapon.
Rawdon Turner, your cousin, needs to behave properly. Have a talk with him. I know him from Parham, and he has always been notorious. He lives a thug life and never wants to do real work. Please get him a job. You can get him to clean the sidewalks and lift some blocks.
