Numerous stalkers classified as “dangerous” have been targetting the royal family over the past 3 years official figures have revealed (Yahoo News)

by Mick the Ram

Figures have been made public by the police which show that the number of potential stalkers of members of the Royal Family have risen over a period of the last three years, when compared to the same amount of time from the preceding time span.

Just under 500 possible pursuers have been pinpointed by the Metropolitan Police’s Fixated Threat Assessment Centre (FTAC) who guard the royals, with 35 of those identified by the specialist protection officers as posing the highest level of risk.

The number in this most serious category rose from 24 in the previous three year period, with experts warning that the family are targets of a wide range of individuals, including Islamic terrorists, far-right activists and lone fanatics.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex, Prince Andrew and the Princess of Wales are believed to be the members who receive the most attention.

Alarming rise

The FTAC is staffed by police, mental health nurses and psychiatrists who specialise on the subject of stalkers, as they relentlessly bid to establish if certain people pose a real danger to public figures, especially the royals.

The alarming total number of potential stalkers actually rose from 433 to 480 over the period and Dai Davies, a former head of the Met’s royal protection command, said: “Unfortunately there will always be deranged people who want to do harm to the Royal Family.

“The difficult job for the police is determining which of them have the means and determination to go through with any plan.”

Qualified team monitoring situation

He explained how currently there are somewhere between 50 to 100 people who are being monitored who are thought to pose a significant risk.

“Quite often these people will be mentally unwell and some will be quite unsophisticated.”

Worryingly, Mr Davies added that these were just the ones that have been brought to the attention of the authorities, and therefore he had to admit that there may and probably are, many more “lurking in the shadows”, as it is more or less impossible for the police to be 100% confident of identifying all those individuals who might want to bring harm to members of the Royal Family.

Duchess of Sussex a serious target

It is thought right-wing extremists pose the most risk at the moment and were stirred up by the arrival of Meghan into the Royal Family, as well as some of the claims made by Prince Harry in his controversial book: Spare

Outgoing Assistant Commissioner at the Met, Neil Basu, revealed the Duchess of Sussex was subject to multiple “disgusting” threats against her life. He said they were deemed credible and would have left Meghan feeling “under threat all the time”.

Windsor attacker highlighted threat

In 2023 a then 21-year-old, crossbow-wielding Jaswant Singh Chail, was jailed for nine years after arriving at Windsor Castle around Christmas 2021 and calmly informing officers that he was “here to kill the Queen”.

The supermarket worker – who told police that he had been “spurred on” by his artificial intelligence chatbot “girlfriend”, and has been detained under the Mental Health Act.

Andrew did not help situation

Also, following Prince Andrew’s disastrous televised interview back in 2019 regarding his links to sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, there was a definite spike in unwelcome attention to the royals.

Indeed, a woman triggered a major security alert in 2021 when she was found wandering around the 30-room, Royal Lodge home of the King’s brother in Windsor, claiming she had a lunch date with him.

The intruder, who was later detained under the Mental Health Act, was waved into the grounds by bungling security guards who even paid her taxi fare!

Kate’s cancer stress affected

Sadly, these stalkers seem to get a kick out of misfortune and the Princess of Wales was subjected to some false and deeply hurtful claims about her absence from public duties, during the early stages of her cancer ordeal.

Conspiracy theorists jumped on to the opportunity to spread lies and bring her unwanted attention at her most vulnerable time.

Then in November of last year, masked intruders stole several vehicles from a farm on the Windsor Castle grounds close to Kate and Prince William’s Adelaide Cottage home, proving that security remains an ongoing concern for all of the family.
