Hundreds of residents from all walks of life came together on Thursday, donning pink in a poignant tribute to 9-year-old Chantel Crump, who was tragically abducted and killed last month.

The emotional gathering was not only a show of support for Chantel’s family but also a powerful demonstration of community solidarity.

Participants marched approximately 1.8 miles, traveling from King Obstinate Drive to George Street, continuing onto Donavans Road, and concluding at Perry Bay Road before arriving at the Keithley Shepperd Recreation Park.

The march, led by local police and Chantel’s grieving parents, brought together classmates, family members, and concerned citizens, all united in their grief and remembrance.

The atmosphere was charged with emotion as classmates performed dances and heartfelt renditions, while many attendees offered comfort to one another during this difficult time.

The sense of community was palpable as those gathered expressed their love and support for Chantel’s parents, who continue to navigate their immense loss.

Chantel Crump, a beloved student at Five Islands Primary School, is remembered for her vibrant spirit and the joy she brought to those around her.

Plans for her funeral are underway, with a burial expected to take place sometime in May, the exact date to be determined soon.

As the country mourns, they hold onto the cherished memories of Chantel, ensuring her spirit lives on in their hearts.

I was disappointed by the turnout. It seems to me that the sensationalism has died down and has taken with it the poignancy of and heartbreaking impact if this heinous crime. All of Antigua or at least thousands, should have turned out. A few hundred( though appreciated)was a drop in the bucket. We must never forget or minimize Chantel’s death for in doing so we put ourselves and our children in danger. JUSTICE FOR CHANTEL!!!

I hope you were present and on scene. I mean while the nations support, some supported by buying and shirt but not coming. Some watched the live broadcast by Antigua.News. so i really don’t see and issue here. some even drive in there vehicles. you can’t expect full colors when there are people who works and even sell at these times. So the majority that went is more than a smile on the families face.

Justice for you Chantel. I’m not her relative but i am impressed by the turn out as people don’t really show interest in things like these. I know the family felt the support behind them and i am very proud of her community for being in their colors! JUSTICE FOR CHANTEL

Sending off a child must be the hardest thing in the life of a family. Nonetheless, one who life was cut short. I mean while they say nothing catches the lord by surprise, I sometimes wonder why he allow certain things to happen and for people to lose faith and question him. But there are some things we will never know. for now, let’s hold on for justice

Chantel is most likely dancing with the angels. She is in God’s hands. Thw saftwst place she could be. She’s better off than many of us here. Whatever killed her or however she died she won’t even remember. That’s the beauty of massiah.
